Short Description: This is a classic Down East-style Lowell-designed wooden lobster boat that was built in Bristol, Maine around 1968 and transposed into a picnic boat. She has unique lines that narrow towards the stern with a fair amount of tumble home at the transom. A former owner found these features to be interesting enough to perform a complete makeover on the boat at a cost reportedly of nearly $60,000. When the previous owner found her, she had been sitting unused for a number of years. The restoration began by rolling her over to glass her hull with four layers of S-glass, a very densely woven and rather expensive fiberglass cloth. The job was accomplished very well and the results show. Her hull, now fair to the point that there is virtually no outward indication that Capt. Woodie acdtually has a wooden hull. No seams to be seen or flaws to be found. During this restoration, Capt. Woodie also had her decks restored and glassed and she received a new cabin and hard top. All of the systems, from power, running gear, tankage to wiring and electronics were renewed. After the restoration, the owner continued to make improvements to the boat adding a new teak bow pulpit with remote electric windlass, a full camper enclosure to the aft cockpit and finished off the interior casbinwith a bright ceiling leaving her looking even better. Additionally a new combo radar/chart plotter was added. She is a head-turner where ever she goes. The hull construction is of carvel planked wood. Ribs are oak. Four layers of fiberglass were applied over the wood in proper fashion and surveys show that there are no alarming levels of moisture in the hull and show no signs of distress or delamintation. Structural integrity of the hull is accomplished where floors, beams, bulkheads, cabin structure and decks work together to provide a strong unit. And the addition of the fiberglass has only increased hull strength and integrity. Most of the trim work, window treatment and hand rails are yellow pine finished bright. 2001 135 HP Volvo Penta 181 gas inboard (approx 480 hours), Borg Warner 71C Gear Box 1 ¼“ SS shaft w/stuffing box, Deena stern bearing & Bronze Nibral 3-Blade 13x10 Prop Engine Keel Cooler 2 Plastic Fuel Tanks (28 Gallon total) Hydraulic Sea Star Steering Dual Battery 12v Electrical System (part of refurbish work) Solar Panel Blue Seas 100 Amp Breaker Panel & 2nd Auxillary 75 Amp Blue Seas Breaker 2 Rule Marine 1500 Auto Bilge Pumps Remote Spot Light Jensen MSR-4115 AM/FM/CD Stereo Windshield Wipers Humminbird Matrix 25 Depth Sounder Standard Horizon Intrepid VHF Marine Radio Raytheon RL-70 Radar Lewmar Plow Anchor on Roller 18# Danforth Secondary Anchor Electric Remote Windlass Electric Horn Xintex Gas Fume Detector Cockpit Cushions American Flag & Socket Complete Cockpit Enclosure
